Renata Wulfinghoff

The jeweller Renata Wülfinghoff (Stuttgart, Germany, 1957) lives and works in Barcelona. She studied jewellery at the Escola d’Arts i Oficis, the Escola del Treball and the Escola Massana in Barcelona. She has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions around the world. Two of her pieces were chosen to form part of the permanent collection of the Museu de les Arts Decoratives in Barcelona. The most characteristic thing about her work are the clear shapes and the subtle treatment of the metal surface. She seeks a symbiosis between contemporary jewellery and ethnic elements, and uses geometric shapes which she softens with warm finishes such as manual oxidation, toning and etching. She prefers satin finishes to shiny both in metal and in the stone she works by hand.
